John McAfee

A cybersecurity and software pioneer, Mr. McAfee began his career at NASA’s Institute for Space Studies from 1968 to 1970. Later, Mr. McAfee successfully contributed to various software and development projects with technology leaders, such as Univac, Zerox, Computer Sciences Corporation, and consulting firm, Booze Allan Hamilton. In 1989, Mr. McAfee left Lockheed Martin and began McAfee Associates, the world’s first antivirus company. Two years after McAfee Associates went public, Mr. McAfee sold his remaining stake in the company that was acquired by Intel Corporation in August 2010. In 2016, Mr. McAfee sought the office of President of the United States as a candidate of the Libertarian Party. Mr. McAfee has earned bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Roanoke College, which subsequently awarded him an honorary Sc.D degree in 2008. Mr. McAfee is the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman of the Board for MGT Capital Investments, a cybersecurity firm. Mr. McAfee currently lives in Lexington, Tennessee and works out of the company’s Durham headquarters.
