Maxime Bernier

Maxime Bernier a Canadian businessman, lawyer, and politician, who is currently serving as the Member of Parliament for the riding of Beauce, Quebec. He is popularly known as “Mad Max” for his long list of libertarian policy positions, which include: ending all corporate welfare, privatizing airports, privatizing the Canada Post, re-evaluating the role of the Bank of Canada, flattening and reducing Canada’s tax code, abolishing the capital gains tax, and reducing corporate taxes.  Bernier has served as Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Industry and Minister of Small Business and Tourism. Most recently, Bernier ran for leader of the Conservative Party of Canada where he ultimately finished second with 49% of the final vote.
